Look it up in google or wherever you want, when you look up the official language of a spanish-speaking country (such as Venezuela, Mexico, etc.) the answer you will get is "spanish" and not "castellano" (although they are considered synonyms). Ask any latin american what language they speak, and the answer will be "spanish" or "español". So before you go on saying such things, you need to educate yourself a little better and do some research.

I tried to publish your comment but somet...Hi Jack, I tried to publish your comment but something went wrong.
So here is your comment:
Jack said:
You said it in your own text in reply to question 3: "...and that’s why I hate it (Spanish language)."If now Catalan (yes, Catalan!) intellectuals like e.g. Boadella and Espada want to keep Spanish language in a bilingual Catalonia, it's their free choice. It's after all a free world and they can speak out if they want to do so.If you consider different opinions than yours a "threat", then the problem is neither Spanish nor Catalan. The problem is your weak self-esteem.
--
Jack Jack, the threat is not just mere opinions. It is what they intend to do with them, what they have done the past 300 years and what they are seriously planning to do.Miquel Marzabal Galanohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11025623738598426160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7973561188390840998.post-42165853232751913962008-06-25T00:24:00.000+02:002008-06-25T00:24:00.000+02:00By the way, Jack: I did NOT openly state that I ha...By the way, Jack:
I did NOT openly state that I hate Spain. That's your distorted interpretation. Yes, I boycott the beautiful Spanish language in Catalonia (I don't boycott it in Spain or Sputh America) in order to save Catalan from extinction. Not to destroy the beautiful Spanish language. I boycott Spanish language in order to promote the very reduced use of the Catalan language and products labeled in Catalan. Just go to a supermarket and try to do your shopping buying Catalan products and you will starve to death. Neither I said to hate anything that remotely reminds me of Spain. You are distorting my words. Read well my words and don't distort them please.

TODAY AGAIN A THREAT:
It's a constant threat. Daily, weekly, today I read that 17 Spanish intellectuals have written a manifesto to go back to the situation in which Spanish the compulsory language was for everything. In fact it still is. For us Catalans it is compulsory to learn the Spanish language (while we don't live in a Spanish speaking territory) while for Spaniards who don't live in Catalonia it is not only not compulsory to learn Catalan, they don't even get the choice to study Catalan. They don't have Catalan in any school there. The Catalan language is being more taught in Germany than in Spain. PP and Ciutadans have said to agree with this manifesto. It's a daily threat. There are thousands of people out there in Spain who see Catalan language as an eyesore and would love to see its extinction. And they are doing their best to accomplish it. By separating Catalan from Valencian, by avoiding Valencian people to get Catalan TV, by forcing us to study more hours of Spanish, etc (read other of my posts on language).

I do not wish the Spanish language to be in danger of extinction. I just wish the Spanish language to stop being a threat to the survival of my own language in my own country. That's all I ask. Not much, really.

Article on the manifesto for the Spanish language:
But anyway, don't forget that my uncomfortable feeling with the Spanish language is a logic result of an intense but yet subtile attack to my own culture and my own language. Spain has been trying desperately to destroy my culture and my language several times. And today it is still trying. Now they are trying to force us to learn more Spanish at school. And then comes the Spanish king and says in a speech that "the Spanish language never was imposed to anyone".
Can't you understand?
Are you really unable to understand?
It is not unfundamented hatred against a language. Spanish is a very nice language. But there happen to be many people who speak this language who are hurting my feelings all the time ever since I was born. Can you understand this?Miquel Marzabal Galanohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11025623738598426160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7973561188390840998.post-90863635968447437712008-06-23T11:25:00.000+02:002008-06-23T11:25:00.000+02:00"Hatred": A word that describes intense feelings o..."Hatred": A word that describes intense feelings of dislike. It can be used in a wide variety of contexts, from hatred of vegetables to hatred of other people. Prejudice or bigotry against an entire class of people (e.g. racism) are examples of hatred. (Wikipedia)

Finally you openly stated that you hate Spain, boycott the beautiful Spanish language and hate everything even remotely reminding you of anything Spanish, even if it was actually a German dude making statements this time.

Sigmund Freud defined hatred as an "ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness". (Wikipedia)

You definitively have the psychologic potential to revive the bomb-putting pricks of "terra lliure".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7973561188390840998.post-6988750200012388172008-06-15T20:12:00.000+02:002008-06-15T20:12:00.000+02:00Hola!Sóc un d'aquells estrangers que va anar a Cat...Hola!
